In writing about my World War 2 childhood in occupied Holland and my growing up years in tropical Australia, I’m recounting a period in my life, and the times in which it was set – things that were, and never will be again. This is an account of a life and lifestyle, and of the tumultuous times and events that impacted on them both, as I progressed from Infancy to adulthood. As an artist I have used my paintings to illustrate activities and locations for which resource material is scarce or non-existent.
